The Way The Water Flows

KP, Junior

My blood rushes like a river

Coursing heavily through my veins

Crashing like a wave into the sandy shore

It carves a lake so spate

Pumped under a hidden way it’s now  a creek

Calm and low it seeps

Steady and ready a puddle forms

One mistake it could dry

Cut from its watery supply

It grows in depth and width

It deepens and the lake shrinks

The rain comes yet the river dries

One is now an ocean…

the other a memory
