Netflix has been releasing an abundance of their own originals television series, movies, interactive movies, and documentaries. Beyonce “Homecoming” film was written, directed, and executive produced  by Beyonce, and just like anything she does, it is an amazing documentary. The film is everything she wants us to see about herself with her dedication, hard working and perfectionist personality.

She stated in the movie, “I definitely pushed myself further than I knew I could.”

The show is built around her 2018 Coachella performance since she was the first black woman to headline since 1999. I think she really wanted to show off her fans and the others on the stage creating the performance.

“Homecoming” represents the fact that Beyonce is not only a performer but a creator. Beyonce speaks mainly in voiceover to portray a phantom presence. Throughout the film, Beyonce included quotes from disquinished black intellectuals, including WEB Dubois, Nina Simone, Toni Morrison, and Reginald Lewis. Her performances are different from other performers because she is joined by 200 other performers. Due to high energy and crowd involvement, every concert feels like a halftime show for the Superbowl. Her shows are multi-faceted and extremely entertaining to her audience. Beyonce has a unique talent of being able to hold the crowd in the palm of her and she continues to defy the culture trends.

“Homecoming” is a joyful celebration and a look behind the curtain like any other concert documentary.
