Black lives matter equals preach, preach, preach.

We come together as one and we eat, eat, eat.

Martin Luther King had a dream and so did we.

Malcolm X died without letting us know

What’s next, Black History Month can’t settle for less!

Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat now

Look at Spike Lee. When it rains it pours but only

Some people feel the rain; others just get wet

Without knowing what’s next. History has shown us

That you can have courage and it may be contagious.

Knowing where you’re from is important and also dangerous

“Colored People” never win. It’s funny how

Black History Month is one of the shortest months

And that just isn’t enough. We want to be

          Remembered as he/she tried!

It’s not enough of soul ties. If your dreams don’t scare you

They aren’t big enough. Stand tall

With your chest poked out and smile.

Education is the most powerful weapon you can have

So don’t let anything or anyone take that away, Tomorrow is on a day

          After today.

The tears, The pain, and the scars I’m never ashamed!

Change will not come if we wait, it’s only February 2020

And it’s so much pain. So let go and let God give us

               Rain Today.
