With sparkling lights, white, majestic pillars and ivy leaves spread around the , it was a magical, prom night at the Marina Inn/ Grande Dunes. On April 8, the night of most people’s dreams occurred. 

The amount of work and time that was put in for this event to happen was astronomical. Not only did teachers and junior student council officers go to the venue from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to physically set up all of the decorations, they also planned during the previous months leading up to the event. 

Jenna Mason, the prom director, shared, “Too many hours to count went into prom. The main challenge I faced was keeping the prom database updated daily. Having this database let us know when we had made enough money to pay for all the expenses the prom had.” 

Many people do not realize how involved some of the teachers are in order to have a unique, mind-blowing night of dancing, singing and socializing. 

Kristen Kilheeney, a committee member, expressed,” It is a really nice event, and I like helping put it together for the students.” 

Prom night gives us the opportunity for the whole student body to come together and see everyone’s superb, sparkly gowns and tuxedos. We all get the chance to enjoy the night as one. 

Makayla Ott, a junior, revealed,” My favorite part about prom was seeing my classmates dressed up and dancing with my friends. It made the experience so much better when I got out of my shell to go out and dance with my friends.” 

A huge congratulations to CF’s 2022 Grecian Paradise Prom Court: Ethan Mischell (king); Briona Huynh (queen); Kaitlyn Doyle (princess); Brayden Brewington (prince). 

Brayden Brewington, the junior prince, shared,” I’m very lucky to have such supportive friends and I’m so thankful for everyone who voted for me. Prom was a blast, and I can’t wait to run for king next year.”

This prom was definitely a night to remember. A huge thank you to all of the teachers and staff who made this night possible. Without any of you, this would not have happened or been enjoyable.
