The tradition of Homecoming normally surrounds a football game; however, Carolina Forest has quite a few students who came back for more than just the Friday night lights. Instead, they have now taken on new roles in our school community. They once walked the campus as students waiting to graduate, and now they are helping those walk across the stage.
There are quite a few Panthers who came back to CF after their graduation. Most are teachers but some actually took on much larger roles in the school’s organization. From social studies to administration, these individuals work hard to continue to better our current students like some of their teachers did in the past.
One history teacher who came back to his stomping grounds is Brogan Will; this is his second year teaching.
Will shared, “This school and the surrounding community has given so much to me during my upbringing. It only makes sense to give back to that same community.”
Other teachers and staff on campus who are CF vets include: Morgan Bane, Abigail Dew, Sara Farrington, Jenna Mason, Amy Perry, Matthew Sassi, Marceil Turner and Devin Weeks.
Past teacher and now assistant principal Jenna Mason has a long history with The Forest. She explained her connection to CF by sharing that her mother was once an assistant principal, too, and basically grew up within the school. This is her eleventh year as an educator.
“CFHS has always felt like home to me” Mason expressed.
When Mason was greeted with the opportunity to obtain a career and technical education (CTE) position at CF, she interviewed and was given the job the next day.
She is now one of the team members on campus who many feel make Carolina Forest so welcoming.
Not only is CF a fastly growing community with almost 3,000 students this year, but in the mass there are teachers and staff who have grown with the community. In their years, they have chosen to give back to the youth and came back home to The Forest to do so.
We would like to personally thank and applaud our teachers, counselors, administrators, and other staff members who make Carolina Forest a home to all of its students.
