It is the moment that we have all been waiting for. The prom season is upon us, and we are so excited for all the laughs, smiles, and memories it will bring. The theme that has been chosen for the prom is Black Tie.
True Marsh, a senior, can’t wait for the exciting night as she shares all that she is doing for prom.
“My dress is a vintage beauty,” Marsh informs. “I do think the theme is a bit bland because I feel like you can wear anything for black and white and narrowing it down would be better.”
Amy Perry, the main coordinator for prom, has had a lot on her shoulders this year with prom and all that comes along with it. This is the first time that Carolina Forest has had a waitlist, and Ms. Perry strongly encourages people to check their email to fill out the Google form waitlist if they have yet to purchase their ticket.
“There has not been a waitlist until this year. Our school has just grown so much. We needed to make sure that it is fair for everyone involved,” Perry explains.
Teachers and students alike are anticipating the opportunity to dress up in their best attire and dance the night away.
“My favorite thing about prom is to go and see all the students dress up and see the whole theme come together with the decorations,” Perry adds. “It is such a fun event and we can’t wait to see the students enjoy it.”
While the excitement is brewing within us, some can’t help but feel stress before the memorable night. The average teen girl spends about $1000 for the four-hour-long event. In contrast, the average teen boy will spend $240. This may cause stress among teens who are only working part-time jobs throughout the week. Teens forget to let loose and have fun after the extraneous year that they have had. We all need to just have fun and make memorable moments with each other instead of worrying about anything and everything.
With big events like this, not everyone is going to be pleased by the decisions but the outcome can be more rewarding than people may think.
Sara Wallace, our junior class president, shares her feelings on the prom theme.
“I feel like it is simple enough for everyone to enjoy it and have fun,” shares Wallace.
The prom will be held at the Marina Inn at the Grand Dunes on March 28, 2024, from 8 pm to 12 am. If you have yet to purchase your ticket, remember to check your email for the Google Form to be put on the waiting list.
We can’t wait for the exciting night filled with elegance and hope to see you there!
