As fall is upon us, the cheerleading season commences. While our athletic programs here at Carolina Forest High School continue to grow, our coaching staff increases and occasionally changes each year. For our 2024 cheer season, one new addition to the Panther nation is Payton Todd.
Todd is very excited to be a part of the Panther community. She was the assistant cheer coach at North Myrtle Beach High School before joining Carolina Forest. She has many astounding accomplishments over the years of her coaching and athletic career.
“While cheering in high school, I was a natural leader, I loved executing routines and helping my teammates be the best version of themselves. Once graduated, I realized what a huge impact and transformative power of having a positive coach who could guide, challenge and support me and my teammates had on my love for the sport. With my love and passion for my sport, I felt a strong desire to help and teach other athletes achieve their goals and unlock all of their potential and have the same positive impact as my coaches had on my life.”
Todd has brought insight and expertise to help make our varsity team the most successful they can be.
Todd stated, “From a coaching perspective, the most nerve-racking part of coaching at a new school is definitely finding your place and connecting with staff and athletes. It is important to establish a positive rapport and meaningful relationships with all the individuals that you will be leading is very important.”
Todd is looking forward to many things this season but what she is most excited for is competition season.
Todd said, “I am most excited to hit the competition mat as a team. Our team has put in a great amount of work at practices and during off season training. I can’t wait to watch all of their efforts pay off in their new uniforms.”
As the cheer season has begun, there is a great deal of optimism with Todd’s arrival. The team is excited to have her as their new leader and is working hard to bring their goals and aspirations to fruition under her direction.
