Carolina Forest High School is more than just a school; it’s a family. There is a bond created that will never be broken once you graduate and start your career. Like Principal Ms. Driggers says, “Once a Panther always a Panther.” Sometimes the bond you create is so strong that you choose to come back home.
Carolina Forest High School opened in 1997 and is presently home to 3,000 plus students. Over the course of the last 27 years, a number of students came back to join the CFHS faculty.
At Carolina Forest High School, we have 11 teachers and one School Resource Officer who are Carolina Forest alumni: Abby Dew, Kristen Dutka, Destiny Eagles, Sarah Farrington, Jenna Mason, Jenna Miller, Zach Moran, Amy Perry, Matt Sassi, Marceil Turner, Devin Weeks, and Brogan Will.
History teacher Brogan Will stated, “I decided to come back and teach at my high school because I have a strong connection to the community, and I want to give back to the school that helped shape me into who I am today.”
All of these alumni made such memorable experiences here at CFHS that they will never forget.
Matt Sassi, one of our business teachers answered, “My favorite memory was becoming the Homecoming King. I wasn’t the typical choice most people would have in mind. It was an honor and memory I will cherish until I no longer exist.”
Many things have been altered over the years at CFHS. Some things stayed the same; some changed dramatically.
Art Teacher Sarah Farrington recalled, “There are so many more students and the school used to be a middle school and high school.”
To these alumni something at CFHS made them feel like they were meant to come back.
“I wanted to come back to Carolina Forest not only because of the familiarity of the campus and faculty, but also because I wanted to give back to the school that welcomed me so warmly as an incoming freshman from Pennsylvania in 2005,” stated Jenna Miller, one of our science teachers.
Each individual has their own viewpoint of how their high school experience was and how memorable they made it.
Art teacher Abby Dew stated, “I loved being a student at CFHS because I loved the freedom that we were allowed, and I loved the sense of community I had in my classes and with my friends.”
There is something so special about Carolina Forest High School to each separate student. Sometimes that something makes you want to come back. We are so happy that these alumni decided to return to The Forest and that they chose to start a career here, a place they call “home.” No matter where life takes you, you will always be a Panther.
