Myrtle Beach has blossomed into a culinary hotspot and become a hub for restaurants and fast food chains, largely due to its status as a premier tourist destination. Each year, millions of visitors flock to our coastal city, drawn by its stunning beaches, thrilling attractions, and lively entertainment scene. The vast number of tourists creates a thriving environment for entrepreneurs, resulting in a diverse array of dining options, from casual eateries to upscale restaurants.
As new businesses continue to emerge, Myrtle Beach not only enhances its appeal to visitors but also fosters a dynamic local economy that benefits residents and tourists. It’s clear that the restaurant scene is thriving, but there’s always room for more exciting options.
In a recent survey conducted among over 100 Carolina Forest High School students, the desire for new dining experiences in Myrtle Beach was evident. Students were asked which of five popular restaurants they would most like to have in the area: Swig, Cheesecake Factory, Raising Canes, Dave’s Hot Chicken, and Dutch Bros.
The overwhelming favorite was Raising Canes, which is most known for its delicious chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, and its famous Canes sauce. While there isn’t a raising Canes in Myrtle Beach yet, the closest location is in Charleston.
Following closely behind in popularity was the Cheesecake Factory. Cheesecake Factory is known for its extensive menu, upscale casual dining experience, and, of course, its wide variety of cheesecakes and other desserts. This restaurant would not only attract locals but also tourists looking for a unique experience. It would surely become a favorite among both residents and visitors.
“I travel to Charlotte often to visit family and friends. We enjoy the food and atmosphere at the Cheesecake Factory; it would be nice to have one in Myrtle Beach. Honestly , though, I’m looking more forward to Trader Joe’s coming to Horry County than another restaurant,” stated Ann Twigg, one of Carolina Forest High School’s teachers.
Dave’s Hot Chicken snagged the third spot in the survey. Dave’s is all about spicy, crispy chicken, and it’s taking the food scene by storm. Known for its fan-favorite Nashville-style hot chicken, they have a variety of heat levels to satisfy every customer. With its fun laid back atmosphere, it would be a hit in Myrtle Beach, giving everyone the unique experience they are craving.
The popularity of these restaurants highlights the demand for more food options in Myrtle Beach. By incorporating popular chains like Raising Canes, Cheesecake Factory, and Dave’s Hot Chicken, the city could further solidify its status as an appealing destination for food lovers. The expansion of the dining scene not only enhances the local culture but also contributes to the overall atmosphere of the community, making Myrtle Beach a place where food and fun go hand-in-hand.
