Every year our senior class goes on a trip together, giving them an opportunity to celebrate their upcoming graduation! This year the senior trip was to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Many schools in our area choose to bring their seniors here! The trip includes three days in the parks and two travel days. Forty-Two seniors attended the trip this year.
“My favorite memory would be watching the fireworks show at night and gazing upon the pretty fireworks that emerged from both the castle and ground. I enjoyed seeing the pretty lights forming and it was worth waiting in front of the castle for at least 30 minutes. I loved it with my boyfriend and friends, it really was a happily ever after in my book!” exclaimed, Sofia Tolentino-Garcia.
It is the perfect opportunity for students to celebrate their high school years with their peers, experience the magic of these incredible theme parks, and create lasting memories before they go their separate ways after high school.
Amy Perry is the teacher in charge of the senior trip.
Perry shared, “My favorite part of the senior trip is watching students who have never been to Disney (or who have not been in a very long time) experience the joy of the parks for the first time; it is truly magical.”
Disney World is a popular choice for senior trips because it offers a magical and memorable experience, with iconic attractions, beloved characters, and a stress-free environment that allows seniors to enjoy their time and create lasting memories. Taking a senior trip to Disney allows for students to reconnect with their childhood memories of Disney characters/shows and live in that moment one last time before moving on to the next chapter of their lives.
Hayley Myer, a senior, stated, “Going on the senior trip gave me the opportunity to hangout with friends and celebrate our last year of high school.”
While going to Disney World with their school isn’t for everyone, some students decide to go on their own trip with their friends or family. Many students choose to go on a get away with their fellow classmates instead of joining the school for a different version of a senior trip.
Mckenzie Perrier, a senior, is going on a cruise to the Bahamas for a week with her family for her senior trip.
Perrier shared,“Cruises are something that my family and I have always enjoyed doing together. So to celebrate my graduation, we decided to take one all together before I move away and go off to college.”
Senior trips are a great way to celebrate the accomplishment of graduating high school and the upcoming next steps of going off to college or whatever paths are chosen.
