Prom night was an unforgettable celebration filled with laughter, dancing, and lasting memories. This year Carolina Forest High School’s prom was held on Thursday, April 17. This year they had a new location due to the population size, and it was held at Kingston Plantation by Hilton. The theme this year was Starlight Garden. Prom opened at eight p.m. and closed at midnight. In the previous years, prom was held at Marina Inn at Grande Dunes. However, many of us were very excited for the new location.
The DJ kept the dance floor going with trendy music everyone knows. When walking inside the building, everyone checked in and then headed inside to the food/lounge area. It was very floral and magical; inside the dance floor room, it had star lights hanging to create a soft and pretty view. When you walked outside, there was a huge area with tables and chairs with fairy lights.
Junior Taylor Greenstein commented, “Setting up for prom was such an exciting experience as it allowed us to come together to create a night that would be special for the entire school.”
Around 10 p.m. they announced the King and Queen, as well as the Prince and Princess. This year the princess was junior Karla Asencio and the prince was junior Zahir Thompson. Isaiah Barnes was named King and Quintasia Graham won Queen; they are both seniors.
Graham announced, “I was very shocked and very surprised, but I was happy and grateful for the opportunity and experience.”
It was so wonderful to see everyone dressed up for the night and dancing on the dance floor.
Amy Perry, our prom’s lead chairperson, stated, “The new location provided more space and opportunity for additional photo spots for students. It was so beautiful, and I can’t wait to return next year. It was very rewarding to hear students comment about the decorations or say how much fun the event was.”
You can say that prom this year was a successful hit! Dresses were sparkling, lights were twinkling, and memories were definitely made that will be cherished for years to come.
