Summer is so close, and with the upcoming season, the movie theatre is a place to consider spending some free-time.
As we look forward to the long Memorial Day weekend, “Lilo and Stitch” and “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning” will be released on May 23. For those who love a good horror movie, “Bring Her Back” is coming on your way on May 30. We’ve also got “Karate Kid: Legends” and “The Phoenician Name” coming out on May 30.
For the die-hard John Wick fans – “Ballerina” comes out June 6. The storyline of this franchise spin-off about a dancer-assassin named Eve (Ana de Armas) seeking vengeance for the murder of her family, takes places between the third and fourth Wick movie. Keanu Reeves will indeed be showing up as everyone’s favorite killer on the run.
“The Life of Chuck,” “Echo Valley” and “Pavements” are coming out on June 6, as well.
If you love a good romance/comedy film, “Materialists” comes out June 13. At the same time, “How to Train your Dragon” comes to the screen. For those who love an animated movie, “Elio” comes out on June 20. On the other hand, we have a zombie scary movie coming out on the same date. “28 Years Later” is a sequel from “28 Weeks Later.”
Senior Emily Silva Reis grew up watching the animated version of “How to Train your Dragon.”
“I’m excited to watch ‘How to Train your Dragon’, because growing up that was my comfort movie and I used to watch it with my family,” shares Reis.
If you have been missing Brad Pitt for a minute, “F1” comes out on June 27. The star plays a former hotshot driver who retired from the circuit after an accident left him shaken. There’s a new prodigy (Damson Idris) on the scene; however, so the former ace is coaxed back to the big leagues in order to coach this future Lewis Hamilton. Hitting the theaters on the same date is “M3gan 2.0,” bringing the homicidal android-doll back!
Jumping into July, “40 Acres” is released July 4. July 11 brings a new “Superman” back to the theaters. “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (the reboot) is available to watch on July 18.
For the third time, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) tries to give us a good movie on these characters. “Fantastic Four: First Steps” hits the big screen on July 25. On the same date, after almost 30 years, Adam Sandler comes back to show you why he’s the funniest golf player to exist. “Happy Gilmore 2” comes to you on July 25.
One of our biology teachers, Mrs. Fox watched the first “Happy Gilmore” growing up.
“I am so excited to watch the second movie. The first movie was hilarious. This is the millennial movie of the summer. Everyone should watch the first one, if they haven’t, then go watch the second one,” shared Fox.
