As senior year is wrapping up, all sorts of emotions are rushing through, such as feelings of excitement for summer/college. It is also sad because we will all be going our separate ways so soon after being together so long. This is a sentimental time; graduation shows closure, and new beginnings at the same time. For us, not really sure how to feel about the upcoming graduation.
Emily Parker, a senior, expressed, “I have experienced so much in high school. Making new friends, meeting my high school sweetheart, winning the pageant, playing volleyball, and so many other things that I will cherish forever.”
Sports and school are all we have known for most of our lives. Now onto college or careers we go…new schools with new people. The teachers and friends we have made throughout the past twelve years are something we will hold onto forever.
Everyone always says “don’t wish your life away,” or “enjoy high school; it will be over before you know it,”and many of us are realizing the truth behind these tidbits of advice.
A senior, Jonathan Ortiz, voices, “These past four years have flown by. I am so grateful for Carolina Forest and all the friendships and lessons it has taught me through school and soccer.”
The people we have been with since elementary school we will now be parting ways with. All of our teachers who have been a safe place for us will stay behind. We will move out to our college dorms and move onto a new campus. Some of us will begin careers.
Now the time has come. We have experienced so much in the last four years. Things that have shaped us, changed us, and made us the people we are today.
Alexis McNabb, who teaches mostly seniors, shares, “Saying goodbye to the class of 2025 is most certainly bittersweet. Getting to know and teach some of them over the last few years has been such a privilege, and they will be sorely missed here at CF. However, I know they are off to do great things! Good luck to all the graduates and always remember where you came from!”
We will forever cherish our time together at this school. The teachers who have taught our minds and touched our lives. The sports, clubs, societies, gamedays, classes, and events that brought us together will never be forgotten. Thank you, Carolina Forest, for the best four years that we, the Class of 2025, will never forget.
