Are you interested in taking a vacation this fall, but you don’t know where to go? In the Carolinas, there are countless places that would make for the perfect fall vacation!
If you enjoy hiking, nature walks, and beautiful scenery, these following places may be a great vacation spot for you: Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, Table Rock State Park, and Kings Mountain. All of these places offer breathtaking scenery and many different hiking trails to choose from!
If you’re looking for more town-like places to visit, consider going to Greenville, Clemson, or Fort-Mill. These three beautiful towns have lots of fall festivals, cute shops, and beautiful scenery! Some festivals include: Voyage Music Fest in Greenville, The Clemson Festival of Arts, and The Renaissance Festival in Fort Mill. These festivals feature various music genres, crafts and vendors, as well as local food.
Many students seem to enjoy visiting these places. Blake Chastain is a sophomore at Carolina Forest High School and shared why he enjoys visiting Clemson during the fall.
Chastain said, “I enjoy going to Clemson because I get to see what I might want for my future education and also get to watch the different fall sports games.”
Clemson University is also widely-known for their sports programs, especially football. This continues to make Clemson such a fun place to be during the fall, especially for those who love sports!
Many festivals also take place all over the Carolinas! One of the most popular ones is The Carolina State Fair in Columbia, South Carolina. At the fair, there are many different exciting attractions and competitions! These include the following: The Downdraft Ride, Mulligan Swing, Student Art Competition, and The Agriculture Competition.
Charleston, South Carolina is also a popular place to visit during the fall due to the various festivals and events held! These include the following: various ghost tours, haunted carriage rides, The MOJA Arts Festival, Oktoberfest, Riverfront Revival, and many more.
Conway is a small town right outside of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It’s known for its deep history, friendly community, and downtown shops. During the fall Conway completely transforms into its own little Halloween town! Many Halloween displays are placed all over the town, fall-themed events are hosted, and family-friendly festivals take place. Some of the events hosted include: Conway Ghost Walk, Midnight Market, along with various pumpkin patches. Conways small-town charm is perfect for a fall vacation!
Grace Thomas, a sophomore, shared, “Conway is always a great place to visit during the fall time. It’s practically South Carolina’s unofficial Halloween town. There are so many cute decorations and things to look at!”
There are so many great places to visit in the Carolinas during the fall! Interesting places to hike like Kings Mountain all the way to fun places for festivals, such as Charleston, the Carolinas are a great option for a fall vacation spot.
