Fall breezes and thick sweaters brings the thrill of football season! Our Carolina Forest High School Varsity Football Team is ready for a fresh start, which we hope comes with many wins.
Our team is very excited for a new season. The varsity football team is also known for having a good track record of wins, so the pressure is on. Our varsity team includes 57 players in total, along with 15 coaches. The team consists of 27 seniors, 25 juniors, and 5 sophomores.
Makhai Thaniel, a junior, is one of our linebackers. He really enjoys playing football and has been playing for CFHS for three years.
Thaniel stated, “Football is a very hard and tiring sport, but it keeps me wanting to get better and makes me work harder than I have ever worked.”
The student body is already for the games and fun dress-up themes. The loud crowds and concessions are also what add an extra perk.
Although students might think it’s all about the Friday night lights, there is a lot of hard work and dedication that goes into training for the upcoming season. Our football players have been practicing since this past spring. With all this training, we are ready for all of the wins this season has to offer.
Quilen Johnson is a senior and captain of the team; he plays as defensive lineman.
Johnson said, “Football is very rewarding, and for me to be captain of our varsity team is a huge honor. I feel a lot of joy getting to lead my teammates through the right paths while also lifting them up.”
The head coach of our football team is Marc Morris. His players feel like they are on the road to success with Coach Morris. He has invested a lot of time and hard work into the team to strive for greatness.
Morris shared, “I really enjoy working with players and watching them grow over a four-year period. I also hope to win the conference and play our best if we make it into the playoffs.”
Overall, our CF varsity football team is going through on the right track. As a school body, we are all counting on our team to showcase their skills and bring our school together. Our student body and community needs to support our Panthers and show some spirit!
