Like a Coarse Shoe

Like A Coarse Shoe:

(an etymology)

Like a coarse, ankle shoe,

you can be made anew

by an unbuckled love

that I can surely brew

from the tip tops of toes

to your hazelnut glow

I can make your heart beat

and a foot it will grow

the Irish saint has not

what you have as coarse thoughts

I can make your head spin

and teach what’s not been taught

the winery has grapes

not as red as your lips

and you surely have me

at your coarse fingertips

the rough ending of us

will not be left as rust

but ‘til death do us part

and beyond that I’ll trust
