On Thursday, May 17, Carolina Forest High School had their Academic Awards Ceremony to officially recognize all of the achievements of the Senior Class. This took place in the auditorium after a special brunch in the gym. Many seniors were recognized; however, one student stood out among the rest: Brandon Davis.

Brandon Davis was recognized a total of eleven times during the ceremony! His achievements include: Woodmenlife American History Award, AP Scholar Award, VFW Voice of Democracy Award, USMC Scholastic Excellence Award, Social Studies Outstanding Senior Award, Panther Award, Horry County Higher Education Commission Academic Excellence Scholarship, Coastal Carolina University Presidential Scholarship, Palmetto Fellows Scholarship, Acceptance to Coastal Carolina University Honors Program and Preliminary Summa Cum Laude Recognition.

“I am extremely honored,” expressed Brandon. “It is very gratifying to have all of my hard work and effort officially recognized.”

Due to the recognition of Brandon’s hard work, he now has two of the most prestigious awards in his ever-growing collection: the Panther Award and the Social Studies Outstanding Senior Award. Brandon has a shared love between all of his subjects, especially history, English and other languages. His love for each subject has pushed him to strive hard, and it definitely paid off in the end.

Brandon has also been voted by the senior class to be the Senior Class Laureate at graduation; he has already written down his speech and can’t wait to take to the stage!

“I am ecstatic that I will be able to represent my fellow Carolina Forest students on the stage at what is considered by many to be the biggest moment of our high school careers,” stated Brandon.

However, there is more to Brandon Davis than academic achievements: he’s also a very talented in the arts. Brandon works on and off the stage at the Theatre of the Republic, even writing and directing several of his own short films! His achievements stem from his avid reading and writing and his love for any type of literature.

With all of his outstanding success throughout high school, his dream to have his own video production company will definitely come to life. Before that, he has announced that he will be attending Coastal Carolina University to earn a degree in Communications.

Congratulations, Brandon Davis! It has been a pleasure having you here at Carolina Forest High School.
