Dream Big
October 30, 2018
Dreams are movies that our mind creates while we sleep. Whether we have vivid, scary, entertaining or even funny dreams, the reasoning behind what we dream is unknown to many people.
Studies show that dreams affect the emotions we feel when we wake up. We could feel happy, sad, or even scared. Whether we remember all of our dreams or not, experts say we dream at least four to six times per night.
People wonder why we dream or if it has anything to do in our normal life. There are many theories on why we experience what we dream. Some say that dreams have no well-being to our health and no connection to anything that goes on in the real world. Others say that dreams are beneficial for mental, emotional, and physical health. Some even believe that our dreams process emotions, incorporate memories and help solve problems in our waking lives.
Although there are millions of different dreams that go on at night, people experience common ones. For example, dreaming that one is falling is one of the most common dreams according to experts. Experts believe that someone dreaming this is likely faced with a major problem with work, relationships, or elsewhere. Another common dream is one’s teeth falling out. Dreaming that one’s teeth starts to fall out represents that something happened in their waking life that caused them to lose confidence. Dreams like dying, being chased, or flying are things that have meanings behind them and have some type of explanation.
While there is a variety of dreams, there are also common types of dreams some people have experienced. One of the most common in modern ages is the idea of lucid dreams.
Lucid dreams are extremely vivid dreams. This means the dreamer has total control or partial control over their surroundings and actions in a dream. While having a lucid dream, the individual person is aware that he/she is dreaming and can even train the brain to do a reality check to see if they are still dreaming. Examples of ways to check include holding close-by objects and staring at solid things. Studies show that lucid dreaming is not dangerous, but it requires multiple hacks and tricks to do.
Whether we try to train ourselves to control our dreams or try to find the meaning behind our dreams, we are the only ones to know what a unique story looked like in our dream. If you have an odd dream or a dream that sparks your curiosity, look it up to see if it can help you figure out the effects it has on your real life.
