My English Sonnet

Shelbi Ankiewicz, Editor

We had a good one, darling, don’t you cry

Look back at all the memories we shared

Remember the day you first caught my eye

That was the moment our love was declared.

Tonight we shall make the most of our time

I will never forget the way you look

Your deep brown eyes are burnt into my mind

You will be the muse for a new love book

Our moments spent will be cherished forever

For you are the water to my ocean

And the soft charm to my witty clever

This love could stir up the biggest commotion

So, my darling, this is not goodbye

When you feel lone, just sing our lullaby
