Myrtle Beach is notorious for the summer jobs the city has to offer. From waiting tables to dancing on stages, there are a lot of options for young people. The range of jobs typically takes advantage of the annual tourist population that gathers for some fun and relaxation.

Jobs on/near the beach that will ensure you make money and get a tan are listed below:

Ricciardi’s Italian Ice– This family owned business has over 20 locations in the Grand Strand, including on piers and hotels off of the beach. This is great for those looking for a first job and pays $7.50 an hour in addition to tips that can land you upwards to $100 a day.

Senior Alexis Stultz says, “Ricciardi’s was a unique first job and entirely worth the pay.”

Lifeguarding– Perhaps the most common summer job, most lifeguards in our town make around $9-$11 an hour. Duties typically include scoping out your surrounding environment for anyone who may have trouble swimming and ensuring guests are obeying proper safety rules. Although you are required to be CPR certified and at least 16-years old, what is a better way to spend your summer than poolside or beachside?

Myrtle Beach Beach Patrol– The beach patrol is responsible for protecting those on the shores of Myrtle Beach. Employees may be in charge of keeping an eye out for anything from glass bottles to sharks. For many positions, watercraft operation licenses and CPR certification are also necessary. Employee’s salaries range from $11-$15 an hour.

Pool Attendant– Responsible for the safety and comfort of guests, pool attendants are vital to hotel’s functionality.  Attendants may also be required to upkeep the grounds. Workers for this job usually make around $13 an hour in our surrounding hotels.

These are just a few of the many jobs Myrtle Beach has to offer that takes advantage of our beaches.  All of these jobs require little to no job experience and are ideal for first jobs.
