Dogs really cannot live without us, they are the only family of animals that are incapable of living without human beings. However, it is also very hard for humans to live without the companionship of a pet, such as a cat, dog or even a goldfish.

Dogs can be a companion to someone who might crave unconditional interaction with another living being. Dogs are not just cuddly companions; they bring a ton of benefits.

Jenna Miller, a teacher at CFHS says, “My dog provides a source of stability in my life. When I have a bad day, he is always here to cheer me up; he’s my buddy.”

Dogs can bring health benefits to a human. Having a dog around when you get home from a long, stressful day of work or school can lower your stress levels. Dogs can are also proven to reduce the chance of asthma in young children and can help with blood pressure.

Dogs can also bring a physical benefit. It is proven that dog owners are more physically fit because of a dog’s needs. Needs such as taking them on walks, letting them outside or getting up to feed them can all bring benefits to the human body.

Therapy dogs help people at schools, hospitals and nursing homes. Recently, dogs have been participating in people’s physical therapy and visiting hospitalized patients.

“Dogs love you no matter what; they never judge you. They are our furry best friends,” says Ann Twigg, a teacher at CFHS.

According to experts, dogs cannot spend much time alone or else they will begin to feel lonely because they are pack animals.

Dogs are the companions everyone needs. After longs days they are always something to look forward to. They love us unconditionally, just like we love them. Dogs bring so much joy; what is not to love?
