Despite a chaotic and uncertain school year, Carolina Forest High School has been blessed with three new head coaches for the 2021-2022 season.

Alexis McNabb, a current job coach for our school, has led the Varsity Girls Tennis team through a winning season so far this fall. She played tennis throughout her high school career and is excited to share her passion for tennis with the young girls on the team.

McNabb shares, “I enjoy being involved in the school and being a part of something bigger than just myself!”

Thane Maness, a social studies teacher, has been recruited for this spring’s upcoming Varsity Baseball season. He brings 23 years of educational and coaching experience to Carolina Forest. Maness has over 17 years head coaching experience and coached 16 players who have gone on to play college baseball, including 6 Division 1 players.

Maness is very excited to start working with the boys, “I love watching players grow and become better on and off the field.”

Richard Howard, also a social studies teacher, is Varsity Softball’s new head coach for the 2022 season. He has been a teacher for eight years, and this year is teaching modern world history and human geography at CFHS.

Howard has been coaching football and softball since 1992; however, he prefers coaching softball because “they don’t want to disappoint anyone so they work hard to reach their goals.”

Our Panther family wishes them the best as they venture into their respective sports seasons. Go, Panthers!
