All generations have grown up with fictional figures in their life who truly played a part in their childhood, whether in comic books, movies, or video games.

The teen web shooter superhero from Queens, Spiderman, is one of those fictional characters who have a place in so many hearts; old or young, on paper or screen. Many know the face of Spiderman as Tobey McGuire or Andrew Garfield, famous actors who have played him in the past. In 2016, Tom Holland was chosen as the “new” Superman in “Captain America – Civil War.”  This led to a succession of Spiderman films, with the latest “Spider-man: No Way Home,”  directed by Jon Watts . The movie’s estimated box office is $609.89 million and climbing, making it the 10th highest grossed film for US box office of all time!

“Spiderman: No Way Home” is honestly a work of genius. This movie brought all generations who grew up on Spiderman together for one major event! The significance it holds is unparalleled.  Be prepared for a few spoilers.

The movie starts where it left off in the last movie, “Spiderman Far From Home,” where Peter Parker, travels to Europe with his class and encounters a superfriend, Mysterio, who later on deceives him and exposes his identity to the world. If it couldn’t get any worse, Mysterio also falsely accuses Parker of murdering him. Now his secret identity is exposed to the world for the first time.  This moment left many audiences shaken on what came next.

At the beginning of this third film, Parker is left with his world turned upside down and is forced to seek out legal help and who better to ask than the lawyer himself, Matt Murdock! Murdock, also known as Daredevil, assures Parker that he’s in the clear for the murder accusation but needs to live a low profile life with his identity in the air. This is the one of the few times fans have seen a cameo of him in a Marvel film. Many fans hope to see more of him in future films.

Parker tries to go back to his normal life, but he soon realizes that he is the reason his closest friends did not get accepted to MIT.   He makes the decision to visit an old friend, Dr.Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), a master of the mystic arts and an Avenger. Strange says he will cast a spell where everyone will forget he’s Spiderman. As Strange begins his spell, Parker starts to change it after he realized he didn’t think it all the way through. All the changes cause Strange to break the multiverse allowing people from other universes to come into theirs.

Throughout the movie, the audience is re-introduced to a myriad of super villians from Spiderman’s past in other realms of the universe:  Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (William Dafoe), Electro (Jamie Foxx), Lizard (Rhys Ifans) and Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), all played by the original actors.  What is most exciting is that the other Peter Parkers (Andrew Garfield and Tobey McGuire) are also featured by being portaled from their realities and end up teaming with the Peter Parker of this world (Tom Holland) to help bring back some sort of balance to all the chaos that Parker helped cause with asking Dr Strange for help.

After defeating all the villains, the multiverse is torn and more villains are coming for Spiderman. Dr.Strange tries to stop the multiverse from opening, but the one true way to stop this event is for everyone to forget Peter Parker’s role as Spiderman. Once Strange casts the spell, everyone in his universe has no recollection of who he is. This sacrifice truly shows Parker, a 17-year-old from Queens, giving up his family, friends, and home to save the world. This moment really differentiates his character from his past movies from being a naive teenager having fun as a super hero to a responsible young man who is now facing the true pain that comes with being one. The development in Holland’s character is extraordinary.

One viewer, Josh Thomas, states, “Easily the best Spider-Man film ever made so far.” No Way Home” is a near perfect culmination of the three generations of Spider Man and even takes inspiration from the Playstation game at moments. This movie exceeds all expectations with its emotional range and action sequences and gives new meaning to this Spider-Man trilogy and gives Holland the true mantle of Spider-Man.”

A critic for “Entertainment Weekly,” Leah Greenblatt, reported, “ What seems at first like pure fan service turns out to be some of the best and by far the most meta stuff Marvel has done: tender and funny and a little bit devastating.”

“Spider-man: No Way Home” gives all Marvel Comic Universe and superhero fans a chance to watch a film that truly brings out the child in everyone. This film will truly go down as one of the best crossover movies of all time! Watts, the director, does an excellent job giving viewers the chance to watch Parker grow from the ground up and truly become Spiderman. Tom Holland shares an astronomical performance conveying true emotion and capturing the hearts of all viewers.
