New Teachers at CFHS

Kaya Perry and Amari Hunter

For the 2017-18 school year, Carolina Forest has gained a plethora of new teachers. Some of them have been teaching for several years, whereas others have just begun their journey as a teacher.

A huge welcome to the following: Toni Boyle, German; Jermaine Foster, Spanish; Delanie Sage, Science; Sherri Bowers, Math; Kevin McCarey, Math; Jesse Patrick, Math; Ron Raber, Math; Pam Niles, Social Studies; Eric Henry, Social Studies; Michelle Scott, English; Nicole Schildt, English, Kay Sellers, English; Sean O’Malley; Musical Theatre; Taylor Campson, Special Education; Wendy Schultheis, Special Education and Laurie Praefke, Guidance/Testing Coordinator.

We’d also like to welcome our new assistant principals: Jimmy Bailey, Mike Dimeglio, Sandra McKnight and Doug Soles.

One of our Fine Arts teachers is new to the public school scene. His name is Sean O’Malley, and he taught private voice and piano lessons before coming to Carolina Forest. Mr. O’Malley teaches musical theatre and choir. He enjoys his time here because he believes the students are kind and hardworking.

“My college voice professor was my biggest inspiration to become a teacher. I love teaching musical theatre and how creative the students are,” said Mr. O’Malley.

Another one of our new teachers has an interesting background. Michelle Scott interned at Carolina Forest with Mrs. Twigg while she was at Coastal Carolina Universtiy.  After graduating in 2009, she began her teaching career in Hawaii the following year.

“I loved my time teaching in Hawaii. The culture, language, and food are amazing!” said Ms. Scott.

First year teacher, Taylor Campson, is pleased with her experience at Carolina Forest so far. Ms. Campson teaches special education, and her inspiration came from students who attended high school with her.

“I love the warm, welcoming and friendly spirit here at CFHS.” said Ms. Campson.

There are many new teachers here at Carolina Forest; we encourage our classmates to get to know them and make them feel as welcome as possible. The inviting spirit here has drawn them in, and hopefully they are here for many more years to come.
