I, as well as 13 other students from CFHS, attended the annual Youth Leadership Conference at Coastal Carolina University on March 5, 2018.  We represented our school amongst 30 schools from across the county, as well as Florence County.  We were chosen to represent our school because of our leadership qualities and dedication to our school and community.

The students who attended were (counter-clockwise in picture): Cassidy Duff, Brandon Garris, Dawson Muckelroy, Kyle Ewing, Travaughan Coleman, Christian Tumbleson, Latrell Pitts, Emma Kurth, Rachel Snyder-Mounts, Isabelle Kern, Linxi Sun, Jade Gambill, Jordan Morris and Tiffany Davis.

At the conference, we learned how to build our leadership abilities and how to contribute to our society.  In particular, we learned to never stop learning fro others because learning should never quit.

According to the Youth Leadership Association, leadership is persistence, knowledge, creativity, innovation, teamwork, honest, and respect.  With these qualities, I know that I can achieve anything.

The conference was a great experience.  Coach Frank, the leader for two of our groups, taught us that “If [I] don’t give up, anything is possible.”  Personally, we all had a blast, and I hope that we can all represent our school again next year.
