Ideally, people think of the perfect vacation spots of the United States such as Bora Bora, Aruba, Barcelona, etc. However, the United States is home to many beautiful and interesting places that range from huge cities to beautiful places with lots of history. Our country is blessed with beautiful coastlines, cities, and national parks that will leave you in awe.
Honolulu, Hawaii is ranked third in the United States for vacation spots. Hawaii is definitely a more tropical part of the United States but also is one of the largest cities in the United States. Some popular spots in Honolulu are Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Beach, and Diamond Head State Monument. It is a convenient travel location inside the United States for those without passports, and for those who like to travel on a budget.
Morgan Finley, a freshman, commented, “Honolulu is so pretty, and I have always wanted to go visit.”
Grand Canyon National Park, located in Arizona, is ranked second. It is full of lots of history that dates back to over 10,000 years ago. It consists of many fossils but none of which are dinosaur fossils. It has beautiful views that leave many people in awe and humility. You are able to take tours of the Grand Canyon, as well as hike all around the beautiful landscape. The canyons hold a distance of 277 miles long and a width of 18 miles.
According to the National Parks Conservation Association, “America’s southwest is full of breathtaking canyons, but none as famous or as widely visited as the Grand Canyon. This world-famous landmark offers wondrous views, spectacular hiking, exhilarating whitewater rafting, and countless adventures.”
New York City, New York is ranked first to visit in the United States overall. According to neverstoptraveling.com, “The Statute of Liberty in New York is a main attraction to the state of New York. It’s a well known symbol of freedom.”
Theinterngroup.com also shared, “New York City is home to some of the best museums in the world.” New York consists of busy city life of shopping, eating, and attending Broadway plays.
Miah Norwood, a senior, shared, “I have always wanted to visit New York because of the beautiful city and all the fun things to do.”
In my opinion, my top travel destination in the U.S. would be Destin, Florida. It is full of beautiful beaches with crystal clear water and great attractions. It has always been at the top of my list, and I hope to visit one day.
Getting to call the United States our home is such a blessing, and some of us don’t realize all of the beautiful destinations that our nation holds.
