Taylor Swift’s newest chapter, her 12 studio album titled The life of a Showgirl, marks a bold return to her pop-roots. It is a great combination of her glossy showgirl glamour with her emotional honesty. Released October 3, 2025, the record uncovers the highs of her performance life behind the curtain.
Her newest album, The Life of a Showgirl, has received the most controversy because of its lyrics and melody.
Victoria Moore, a math teacher at Carolina Forest high school, stated that she can relate to Taylor’s new album and lyrics.
“I don’t like Taylor Swift…. I love Taylor Swift. I have been listening to her since the beginning. With her being the same age as me, I found her songs very relatable to what was going on in my life. I love the wide range of sound she produces and the lyrics she writes are phenomenal. It is so easy to get wrapped up into the emotions that her songs produce.”
Moore also gave insight on her favorite songs and album.
“I can’t really say I have a favorite song because I just love everything she writes and every album is so different. I do love the 1989 album the most but right now, I have been listening to ‘Opalite’ and ‘Father Figure’ the most. ‘Opalite’ is an upbeat song about making our own happiness and finding love. ‘Father Figure’ is about Taylor getting ownership of all her original songs.”
Personally, I love Taylor Swift. I have been listening to her since middle school. My all time favorite album is RED because I can just relate to the album. When her new album came out, I was very excited to hear it.
My favorites from her new album are ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ with Sabrina Carpenter and ‘Eldest Daughter,’ I love the song, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ because it’s a very uplifting song that makes you want to dance. I love ‘Eldest daughter’ because it represents me. I am the eldest daughter in my family, and I just understand the whole song.
Taylor Swift has grown a lot as an artist and continues to make music that connects with people. Her songs inspire fans and show that she will not be slowing down anytime soon.
