The Carolina Forest High School (CFHS) football program is gearing up for the 2026 season by honoring its legacy of creating champions on and off the field. Carolina Forest High School’s team has begun training and workouts for the new season. Whether it’s in the weight room or on the field, the Panthers are working hard to build upon their history of excellence.
For years, the CFHS football team has been a dominant force in South Carolina, producing athletes who go on to play at the collegiate level, such as former standout tight end Ryan Yurachek (Class of 2014) who reached the NFL. The reputation of Panther football is defined by perseverance and dedication.
Jaryn Fox, a senior, is stepping out of Panther football this year with a scholarship to Glennville State University in West Virginia. He was a standout player during all four years of high school.
Fox stated, “ I enjoyed being a player my teammates could rely on to win games and produce when it really mattered, which helped us win our region for the third straight year and win 10 games this past season. That mindset along with striving to be a role model for the underclassmen have been my main goals, and thankfully, it has gotten me where I am today. I’m looking forward to making a name for myself in college.”
This year marks a major shift for the offense, with junior standout Matthew Kellner stepping into the role of starting quarterback. Stepping up to lead the team carries major pressure, but Kellner is ready to embrace the challenge.
“Going into this year, there is definitely a lot of pressure, but I’m ready for it,” Kellner stated. “I’m just excited to get to work and have all my guys with me and supporting each other.”
For the staff, led by Coach Morris, preparation goes far beyond conditioning drills. The true legacy of CFHS football lies in building up players that excel athletically, academically, and in life.
“Our players work really hard each year leading up to the season. We hope the kids continue to improve on and off the field as young men to be successful again this season,” Morris shared.
Carolina Forest football has a legacy reaching far beyond this team. The team morale holds true to the values of discipline and grit. Each athlete represents years of growth, triumph and hardship, players face season after season.
