Music Unites is a non-profit organization supporting music education around the world. It partners with music stars, celebrity ambassadors and music sponsors to promote projects and events at schools.

The goal of the organization is to raise academic and lifetime achievement for at-risk public school students through the support and creation of unique music education partnerships and programs. Donations are given to help run their programs.

Music Unites was founded by Michelle Edgar in 2009. He created the organization to support upcoming artists but also wanted to give back to communities in need of musical rejuvenation.

“I wanted to create a community that supported emerging and established musicians across all genres, while giving back to undeserved communities in need of musical rejuvenation and providing students who wouldn’t traditionally have the means an opportunity to experience and study music,” said Michelle Edgar.

The organization has many different programs. One of these programs is the Music-Versity Workshops. This program includes field trips, panels, workshops, master classes, and other special opportunities to give students insight into the music industry.

Music Unites also has multiple events every year. These events include concerts, memorials, and more. In the past, Music Unites collaborated with H&M, Guitar Center, iHeart Radio & Real 23.3 LA to make an event. There were performances from artists such as JD McCray and John Lindhal.

Music education is greatly supported at our school. Our band and our show choirs win multiple awards each year, traveling the East Coast

Senior Tyler Newall added, “Music education is important because it allows students to feel accepted into a group of others that have their same interests.”
