This year we have two new assistant principals at our school: Byron Owen and Devin Weeks.

Mr. Byron Owen is from Rustburg, Virginia, and went to college at Virginia Tech. He loves to watch college football (Go, Hokies)  but also any other good football. Mr. Owen loves being outdoors hunting and fishing. His favorite thing to do is go saltwater fishing with friends and taking his two little boys pond fishing for bream, bass, and catfish. He has three children, two boys aged 5 and 3, along with a eight-month-old girl. This year Owen states he is looking forward to “being at athletic events and learning new traditions at CFHS and getting to know lots of new people.” When becoming a high school principal, Owens was motivated by his family and the desire to have an even greater impact on education. Owen states the two things he loves about being a Panther are “the people I work with” and “getting to spend a lot of time outside, I do not like being stuck inside all day!”

Devin Weeks is from Myrtle Beach and an alumnae from CFHS. She loves the feeling of coming home and being a part of the school she “loved so much as a Panther.” Mrs. Weeks enjoys spending time with her family. Weeks adds, “I’ve been extremely busy over the last few years, so when I do have some down time I try to make sure I’m filling it with quality family time and making memories.”  Mrs. Weeks also really enjoys paddle boarding, diving, and hiking. This year she is looking forward to developing and establishing new relationships with the teachers, students, and staff of CFHS. Before becoming a principal Weeks was a English teacher at Socastee High School. She enjoyed interacting with students and helping them become more successful in school. “I realized I loved doing the same for teachers as well after becoming the Department Chair at my last school”. Weeks states “I am excited to be in a position to motivate and make sure no one gives up on themselves or others.”
