CFHS+Spring+Sports

Carolina Forest High School has an immense amount of spring sports teams! We offer soccer, softball, baseball, boys tennis, track, boys golf, as well as lacrosse. All of our teams are very tight knit and act as if they were a family. Having this type of relationship allows them to do amazing things for our school! This year many of our spring teams made it to the playoffs.

Firstly, both the boys and girls soccer teams have done amazing things this season! With both teams making it to the playoffs, our Lady Panthers unfortunately lost in the second rounds of the SCHSL state playoffs against West Ashley while our boys are currently in the third round of this year’s playoffs against Stall High School.

Soccer player Jonathan Sessions, a junior, believes, “Our biggest challenge as a team was being strong mentally. We came into the season with a negative outlook on how it might go due to our departure of 14 seniors, and now being able to bounce back from that and our 3-5-1 starting record to now be sitting at 17-5-1 (and counting) is really special.

While both our girls and boys lacrosse teams have had an amazing season. Unfortunately, both lost in the first round of their playoffs, the girls against Dorchester, and the boys against Chapin.

Our boys tennis and golf teams have made some very impressive moves during playoffs. Our boys tennis team made it all the way to the third round of playoffs, just coming short of the win against Dutchfort. Our boys golf team recently sent Josh Hilario to the lower state tournament after qualifying at the region tournament.

Another sport that has gone above and beyond during their games is our softball and baseball teams. Our baseball team finished the regular season with a record of 19-7, winning the AAAAA-Region 5 Championship.   but lost Our softball team has made it to the District semi-finals as well, and although it was a close game, they unfortunately lost against Ashley Ridge.

“My favorite memory was when Coach would joke around and throw the trash can and make it to the district championship. We have worked so well together and tried really hard this season to make it as far as we did,” said Andrew Rooney, a senior, Baseball player.

Finally, our track team has made so many improvements and has shown real growth as a team! They are Region Champs and are heading to lower states Saturday at Wando.
