Presidential Rallies in SC

Presidential+Rallies+in+SC

The anticipation is building as our nation gets closer to the 2024 Presidential election in November, especially South Carolina.

These past few weeks Nikki Haley and Donald Trump have been traveling across South Carolina to share both of their sides. Donald Trump is in the lead for the Republican party instead of Nikki Haley.

On February 3, President Joe Biden won South Carolina’s primary election for the Democratic Party.

On February 10, Donald Trump visited Coastal Carolina University for a presidential rally. Around 10 a.m. people stretched across a few blocks to support Donald Trump, even though he arrived later in the afternoon. They opened the doors at 11 a.m. for people to find a place to see him.

Thousands of people gathered at the Student Recreation and Convention Center at Coastal Carolina University for the rally. The student center holds around 3,000 people, and there were more than two parking lots full. Some people were paying to park in driveways at the housing near Coastal so they could walk over. Others were paying to park at nearby restaurants.

Tickets were free but first come first serve, getting them electronically. The people who arrived early chose their seats, but the rest were randomly picked.

According to the Post and Courier. students who attend Coastal Carolina University were scared because of the rally. They were only informed three days before Trump would be arriving and wished they had more time to prepare. Some students even locked themselves in their rooms during the rally because they were scared of all of the people who were on the campus. Other students were dressed in all black to protest against the rally.

The Post and Courier also stated that a student at Coastal Carolina University attended the rally because she did not agree with how the students got the notification about Trump arriving. She stated that the campus should be notified two weeks in advance to know about any guest speakers.

After all of the conspiracies and chaos for the 2020 Presidential election, it will be exciting to see who will win the 2024 Presidential Election on November 5.
