Music is a big part of our world today. In our city of Myrtle Beach, we are very fortunate to go a short distance to the House Of Blues to listen to a variety of live music.
The House Of Blues opened its doors in 1997 and is located in North Myrtle Beach in Barefoot Landing. There are a lot of concerts where some people, including now famous musicians, start their careers. There are a total of eleven House Of Blues located across the United States. This building can hold up to 2,850 people at a time, making it for a smaller concert or event depending on the situation. Some events that occur are parties, dinners, concerts, proms, theatre/plays, and tributes.
Famous musicians who have performed at the House Of Blues vary from many different genres. Darius Rucker, a famous country singer, has performed here many times, seeing as South Carolina is the place where he calls home. In September 2008, Taylor Swift performed here, too, before she became famous. Dylan Scott, a famous country singer, will be performing again this upcoming May. Other artists include Shawn Kingston, Good Charlotte, Switchfoot, Third Eye Blind, Boys like Girls, Kesha, Pierce The Veil, and Sister Hazel.
“It is a fun building and the community is lively and exciting!” stated a junior Juilanna Critelli.
A local school, AAST, will be having its “spring gala” at the House Of Blues this upcoming spring! They also attended here last spring for the same event as well and enjoyed it very much.
Mckenzie Perrier, an attending junior at AAST, stated, “I was so excited to hear that our spring gala would be at the House Of Blues because I know it will be such a nice environment to be in for the occasion.”
There are many upcoming events at the House. Every Sunday there is a Gospel brunch, which includes Soulful Brunch, Spirited Performances, and Giving Back.
Murder Mystery is something new. Happening every week, a murder happens during your meal. You cannot leave until the case has been solved everyone is a suspect. If you solve the case, you may be rewarded.
Connor Rice is set to play on March 15, at 7:00 p.m. Finally, March 22, at 8:00 p.m., there will be “The Taylor Party: The TS Dance Party (18+)” This is a Taylor Swift-themed dance party based on the Eras Tour.
The House Of Blues is a nice attraction to have as a tourist state and is a nice thing for locals to have nearby as something fun to do. Not only is there music, but it also offers so many fun things to do!
