This year’s CCMF music festival is sure to be rocking with artists like Morgan Wallen, Carrie Underwood, Parker McCollum, Megan Moroney, and many more! However, tickets sold out within minutes of them going on sale and resale prices are crazy (or maybe you just aren’t a fan of country music and want an alternative to the four day festival). Regardless of your reasoning, there are other upcoming concerts coming to you this summer across the southeastern coast.
In the Wilmington area, we have Alabama (June 13), Cole Swindell (June 29),Train (August 11), and Bailey Zimmerman (August 16).
A little farther west, Charlotte is home to the Bank of America stadium as well as many other great venues. There you can find Carly Pearce & Tim McGraw (May 17), Chris Stapleton and George Strait together (June 1), Niall Horan (June 5), 21 Savage (June 6), X Ambassadors (June 7), Brothers Osborne (June 7), Bryson Tiller( June 11), The Kid LAROI (June 13), Hardy (June 14), Cody Jinks (June 20), Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, & Alison Krauss (June 22), Maroon 5 (June 27), Cole Swindell ( 28), Janet Jackson (July 14), Morgan Wallen (July 18-19), Chief Keef (July 27), Cage The Elephant (August 4), Hank Williams Jr. (August 9), Earth, Wind & Fire (August 13), Dan and Shay (August 16), and Imagine Dragons (August 28).
Finally, head on down to the lowcountry in Charleston, SC which has a myriad of venues and stadiums. You can see Brooks & Dunn (June 15), Maggie Rogers (June 20), Flatland Cavalry (July 18), Jon Langston (July 18), New Kids On The Block (July 25), Sam Hunt (July 26), and Dan and Shay (August 15).
Music is such a fun way to get together with friends, a perfect first date, or even the place where you might meet some unexpected friends. Music is the thing that brings us all together and has the power to really influence your emotions.
Shane Kinney, a senior, shares how concerts have impacted his life by recounting his most recent experience.
“I recently saw Cannibal Corpse at the House of Blues on May 17. The energy was super high. I went with a good group of friends and everyone was super friendly. The band was getting the crowd super hype and said Myrtle Beach was a ‘rising scene.’ I’m really happy I got the chance to go because I got a discount [being a local] making it more accessible to everyone. Overall, I had a great time.”
So maybe you weren’t able to get CCMF tickets this time around, but luckily for you there are plenty of other options this summer. Make sure to head over to Ticketmaster or LiveNation to grab your tickets to see some of the hottest artists this summer. You won’t want to miss it!
