Broadway at the Beach

Broadway at the Beach is known for being a popular destination for tourists to visit. It has a wide range of activities for visitors like shopping, dining, family activities and more. It opened in 1995 and thrives from spring break to August.

There are various family-friendly attractions like Ripley’s Aquarium, Wonderworks, and the Hollywood Wax Museum. These places can be fun for adults and children and a good way to make memories with family or friends.

According to Broadwayatthebeach.com, an average of 14 million visitors from all over America visit Broadway a year. This brings in a lot of money for Myrtle Beach.

Emerson Stultz, a junior at CFHS who works at Broadway states, “I enjoy working at Broadway when it is the busy season. When it gets slow there isn’t much to do and you get bored quickly so I enjoy the tourists visiting.”

Some restaurants at Broadway at the Beach host live music to attract locals or tourists.

One of the most popular places for teens and tourists is The Hangout, which has a stage for live music outside and a stage for entertainment inside.

The Hangout at Broadway is decorated with vintage lunch boxes, rubber ducks on the walls and ceilings, pez dispenser wall, signs with meaningful words, and a wishing wall outside. Tourists enjoy the wishing wall to write their wish and roll it up and put it on the wall.

The Hangout has bands that play every weekend outside in the courtyard where you can dance or sit and eat. They also have a kids area with a sand pit and a bubble machine. Inside The Hangout, they have live entertainment like games or singing and dancing on the tables. They also have a slide that goes from upstairs to downstairs for anyone to try and it leads to the store they have that’s filled with merchandise and childrens toys.

Broadway also has other attractions nearby that are popular. There is Pelicans Baseball, Myrtle Waves Waterpark, Broadway Grand Prix and Top Golf.

Zowie Bennet, a junior who works at Myrtle Waves Waterpark, states, “I like working at the waterpark because of the experience and the atmosphere. The people make it more enjoyable to be there when it gets really busy in the tourist season.”

Tourists enjoy coming to Broadway at the Beach because of their wide variety of attractions. It brings families together and offers many dining options, amusement rides, entertainment and more.
