During the holiday season, Carolina Forest High School students share their spirit and talent with our community. Our CFHS choirs held their “Holiday Spectacular” on December 13-15. This consisted of many different group numbers and solos highlighting some of our students. Along with the show choir, our orchestra is held their holiday concert on December 19. Both the orchestra and the show choir combine all four grade levels for their performances.
Our show choir consists of three different classes who work daily at school on perfecting their songs and choreography. The choir began working on their holiday material the day after their fall show. With a little over a month to put together a two-hour performance, they have been worked non-stop.
“It is truly the most stressful show of the year, but once we get up on stage it’s all worth it. The hundreds of people in the audience cheering us on makes our performance 200 times better,” said Ireland Bridgeman, a senior in the showcase choir. “I am thankful that I get to perform and spend my day with people I consider family.”
The orchestra program also consists of three classes, one of which being the “chamber orchestra.” Carolina Forest’s orchestra has a record of gaining the highest rating of superior at competition for ten years in a row! They will be performing songs from different holiday movies such as “The Polar Express.” The orchestra has been rehearsing their holiday material for around three/four months.
“My students are among the most dedicated individuals I know, and each has a distinct style that distinguishes the orchestra,” stated Stephen Williams, our orchestra director. “Our rehearsal process is long and tough, but our students persevere.”
Congratulations to our students for all their hard work and determination.
