At CFHS last week, we hosted our 25’-26’ Homecoming, along with our Fall Festival and Powderpuff. The spirit was through the roof this past week! Our events were full of fun and festivities. This eventful week included spirit days, float and door decorating, a parade, and best of all, our annual Homecoming game!
Spirit Week was full of exciting events and amazing spirit outfits! Monday’s Spirit Day was “Monsters University,” wearing your favorite college apparel. We saw a great variety of colleges! Tuesday was Disney Dynamic Duos, dressing up as a Disney Duo or a Disney group. Wednesday was Just Keep Prowling, dressing up in a tropical outfit. Thursday was Once Upon a Throwback, dressing up for a decade of your choice. And lastly, Friday was our White-out Day for our Homecoming game! Students really showed out in their outfits to present their Panther pride!
CFHS’s Student Council is very involved in Homecoming. Niccolette Negron is our Sophomore Class President.
“It is so fun to help be a part of planning spirit week and having the opportunity to brainstorm with the other members of the Student Council. There was times where last week has been stressful, especially with making sure we had the sophomore class float decorated in time for the parade, but there was also a lot of enjoyable moments like dressing up for spirit days,” Negron stated.
During lunch last week, our Panthers had an ecstatic time with all our games each day! On Monday, each grade competed in a hula hoop relay, fighting with their speed and flexibility. Tuesday was the bead wars; anybody was welcome to join the game by having one bead necklace and playing a game of rock, paper, scissors. Whoever won the game could “steal” the other opponent’s beads! Wednesday was the Hungry Hungry Hippos challenge, where our Panthers paired up and made a human hungry hungry hippo. Thursday was Karaoke Day. Students were able to choose their favorite song and sing their hearts out! Karaoke continued on Friday, along with a wing-eating competition.
“Dressing up for spirit days and participation in the games during lunch was a way everyone in our class could enjoy Homecoming week and also get us points towards the spirit stick!” Negron continued.
The Carolina Forest Parade and Homecoming Game was held on Oct. 24. The parade had all of our Marching Band, Cheerleaders, Homecoming Court, and the Student Council’s floats. The parade showed the panther pride to fight for our Homecoming game!
Ms. Kristen Kilheeney is the advisor of Student Council.
“I enjoy seeing all the students have fun. All the work is worth it for kids to have the best time and this week really show the school spirit we have,” shared Kilheeney.
The past couple weeks have been a bustling rush for The Forest. We appreciate all of our Student Council Staff who helped with our spirit weeks, games, and of course, showing support for our football team! We hope everybody had a fun week! Stay in spirit, Panthers!
