Teachers are more than just instructors; they are the architects of our future, shaping minds and inspiring generations. The Teacher of the Year Award is a moment to pause and celebrate the extraordinary dedication and talent within the profession. Carolina Forest High School is proud to award Tim Karst as Teacher of the Year for the 2025-2026 school year!
Karst teaches U.S. History and coaches Varsity Football. He has been teaching for 17 years and is proud to be a “School Dad” for many students.
Karst stated, “This honor is a huge commendation for me. It means the world. I try to bring my best every day. There are so many good teachers at CF; to be voted with the top spot is kind of surreal.”
Evelyn Garcia Lopez, a junior at CFHS, loves many things about Karst’s class.
“I feel everything we do in his classroom can be something that I favor. One of my favorite things is the way he includes every one of his students, whether you are considered loud, quiet, or shy. He will always make an effort to include you in every way possible. Apart from that his attitude when it comes to teaching. He provides an amazing classroom environment and learning style.”
Karst believes that students need someone to listen to them and care, so Karst is always there for his students.
“Developing relationships with students is so important to me. Building trust with them and helping them through stuff is the greatest contribution I can make. ‘School Dad’ is my favorite title.”
Raul Antonio-Martinez, a junior, expressed that there is never a bad day in Karst’s class.
“He’s always ready to have a good day, and I love his teaching with his students. Who needs a comedy house when you got A104? There is not one student who has a low C in his classroom. After all, he’s Teacher of the Year!!!”
Antonio-Martinez described Karst in three words: loud, strict and cool.
Karst was asked what he would be doing if he wasn’t a teacher, and he said he would be a personal fitness trainer. He studied fitness in college and loves to be athletic.
Principal Driggers, students, and faculty are happy Tim Karst is a teacher at CFHS. Karst’s favorite thing about teaching is the interaction with students everyday and helping them navigate life. These are qualities of a teacher that are so important. We are proud to have Tim Karst as Teacher of the Year.
