Taking Carolina Forest to the Next Level

Ann Twigg, Advisor

On Tuesday, September 21, CFHS welcomed approximately 650 Carolina Forest community teachers and staff, along with Dr. Rick Maxey, HCS superintendent, to share in our excitement of celebrating the new school year.  Jeremy Anderson, a premier motivational speaker from Atlanta, GA, shared a powerful, passionate message about how students and teachers can become the best versions of themselves and take their educational experiences to the next level.

During Mr. Anderson’s adolescent years, he experienced many challenges that included drug and alcohol abuse, along with  constant failure in school.  With help from his family and teachers, as well as a true desire to leave a positive footprint in his life.  He not only received his high school diploma but also obtained his bachelor and masters degree.  His powerful lessons inspire students, teachers, and leaders to realize how important relationships are to achieve personal and team success.

Jesse Patrick, a math teacher from CFHS, shared, ” There are so many powerful lessons that we can learn in life, and other times, they are lessons we can learn from listening to others as they share their own stories.  Even when Mr. Anderson did not believe in himself, he had others who believed in him.  It is vital for teachers to make sure that our students know that we believe in their success.  A little belief goes a long way.  Jeremy Anderson reminded us to never give up on our students because they may need us more than we know.”

Along with touring and motivating the world, Mr. Anderson also owns several successful businesses and has written seven books.  He has spoken to audiences across the globe, tackling key issues such as teacher efficacy, student achievement, anti-bullying, and numerous other pillars within the educational system.

Ruthie Warren, CFHS instructional coach, commented, “Jeremy is a positive force on everyone who meets him.  I know if we can get him back to speak to students, they will be as excited as we were to listen to his life stories.”
