New Fall Coaches in The Forest

New Fall Coaches in The Forest

Our Panther fall sports programs are off to an explosive start with practices and events almost seven days a week. We also have three new, fall coaches: Brody Hillman,  Kirkley Russell and Whitney Lesaine.

Coach Hillman started his coaching career here at CF back in 1999, but he left for a ministry career in 2005. After he finished coaching at CF, he coached at Ocean Bay Middle for three years. Then he followed his son Brogan to Ten Oaks and coached there for four years.  He is also now teaching PE 1 and PE 2, along with helping co-sponsor Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Hillman coaches JV and 9th grade DB’s, but he also helps out with varsity whenever they need help. Coach Hillman loves coaching and getting to know his players and building lifelong relationships.

“I am very passionate about helping young men develop as athletes and become better people, especially with football which provides so many transferable skills for life beyond high school. There is no greater honor for me than to help someone understand their potential and inspire them to relentlessly pursue it,” shared Coach Hillman.

Coach Russell has been coaching for 25 years at five different schools: Providence High School, Grimsley, AL Browning, Rock Hill, and Nature Ford. Coach Russell coaches both JV and 9th grade linebackers, but he helps with varsity whenever he can.

“ I like getting to know my players better and teaching them life lessons and new skills,”  said Coach Russell.

Coach Whitney Lesaine, one of our special education teachers, is our new, assistant tennis coach.   This is her first year coaching.   Her experience with tennis is that she played for seven years..

“My favorite thing about coaching is building connections with players. Outside of academics, you are able to have so much more fun. It encourages me to keep growing personally and professionally, just like I watch the players do,” explained Coach Whitney.

We wish each one of their teams a great season.
