Fall Fun at the Beach

Fall Fun at the Beach

Living in such a popular tourist town with limitless activities means you have choices year-round. While Myrtle Beach is promoted mainly for our beaches and golf courses, there are still plenty of fun events, especially in the fall time!

On September 23-25, Myrtle Beach will be home to the World Championship Chili Cook-off for the second year in a row. People compete nationwide to qualify for the Championship, and if they’re lucky enough, they can win $75,000 and the title of Champion. There is no entrance fee. The three-day event includes chili testing, food trucks, live music, retail vendors, a kid zone and more!

Market Commons is holding a Fall Taste of The Market Common & Sidewalk Sale on September 24. Taste a wide variety of delightful food ranging from Southern, Asian, Italian and Mexican; bubble tea, specialty chocolates and ice cream will be offered. Enjoy sidewalk sales with tables of products from local vendors and carriage rides. Buy tickets (cash only). Taste all types of food and vote for your favorite restaurant to win bragging rights.

Along with Taste of The Market Common & Sidewalk Sale, Market Commons is also hosting Vintage Market Days on September 30 – October 2, an indoor and outdoor market to promote vendors’ talents and ideas with many antiques, jewelry, clothes, home decor, handmade goods, and outdoor furniture.

On October 14-16, the 6th Annual Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival will be held on historic Carver St. near the SkyWheel with more than fourteen performers over the weekend. You can bring chairs, blankets, and small bags but are not permitted outside food or drink.

Finally, enjoy one of the most treasured holiday events, Nights of a Thousand Candles, an occasion for all ages with over 2,500 hand-lit candles and millions of shining lights. It starts November 26 and runs from 4-9 p.m. on Thursdays through Sundays at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrels Inlet.

Fall time at the beach is just around the corner. Make plans with friends and family and enjoy local festivals all season long!
